BA CI to MS Cybersecurity
BA CI to MS Cybersecurity
BA CI to MS Cybersecurity
Cybersecurity is one of the fastest-growing fields in computing in the United States. The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts cybersecurity jobs will grow 31% through 2029, over seven times faster than the national average job growth of 4%. This new program offered by the Computer Science department leverages already existing programs that our university offers, but allows students to achieve the same education quality at a reduced rate in a shorter amount of time.
In this program, students will follow through with the outlined curriculum of the BA in Computing and Informatics, until the students' Senior Year. In that year the student will take courses that are part of the MS in Cybersecurity, as well as any other courses that are needed to fulfill the obligations of the BA in Computing and Informatics. The MS courses taken in senior year will apply to both degree programs, fulfilling elective credits to the undergrad program. Then, after the fourth year, the students will become full graduate students and finish with the curriculum of the MS in Cybersecurity.
Forms
The one-page CADP in Cybersecurity Application Form, the CADP Student Agreement and Confirmation Form, the CADP BACI to MS Program Guide, and the Program Description are available for download.
Process for Application
- Complete your admissions application during the last semester of your junior year by the application deadline (see dates below).
- Your application is then reviewed by the CS Graduate Committee for admission approval. The Committe will be looking for a high CS GPA and two strong letters of recommendation.
- In the final two semesters of the undergraduate portion of the CADP program, students should take four 3 credit graduate courses from any of the courses in the MS Program below. It is recommended that students take the Computer Science Foundation Courses in their final two semesters.
- These 12 credits will count towards the 30 credits required by the M.S. in Cybersecurity as well as the 120 credits required for the B.A. program.
- Students in the CADP programs are still required to fulfill the requirements of the undergraduate degree by the completion of their final undergraduate year including the four undergraduate program restricted electives.
- Only courses from the Cybersecurity Required Core Courses or the Cybersecurity Elective courses can count as undergraduate program restricted electives.
- If a student reverts back to the undergraduate major and does not fulfill the requirements of the MS program, they would need to fulfill the requirements of the undergraduate degree to graduate.
Requirements for Application

- Have completed at least 75 credits towards the BA in Computing and Informatics, with an average GPA of at least 3.0, and will be able to complete all BA requirements in two additional semesters.
