COGS in Health Data Management

Add the CS Health Data Management

Targeted population: Graduate students with a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.

Purpose: The Certificate of Graduate Study (COGS) in Health Data Management is designed to offer students the opportunity to understand how to handle health-related data and design and analyze experiments as they relate to health data. It is intended for researchers, statisticians, or data analysts who would like to play a part in the healthcare industry.

Students seeking this COGS will be required to take 2 required courses and 2 restricted electives. This
COGS is “stackable.” That is, all of the courses count for the MS in Data Science, and many count for the
MS in Computer Science.

The following courses will be required to complete this COGS

  1. DA 03510 Patient Data Understanding

  2. CS 02625 Data Quality and Web/Text Mining

Two of the three restricted electives will be required to complete this COGS

  1. DA 03511 Patient Data Privacy & Ethics

  2. DA 03520 Healthcare Management

  3. STAT 03525 Design and Analysis of Experiments
