Request Prerequisite or Corequisite Override
The Rowan University Department of Computer Science strongly discourages enrolling in courses without having satisfied the necessary prerequisite or corequisite courses. However, if a student wishes to enroll in a course without having satisfied the necessary prerequisite or corequisite courses to receive credit for a Computer Science or Computing & Informatics Required Major Elective or Major Restricted Elective, a student may receive approval after filling out the following form at least 30 days prior to the start of the course: Google Form link.
Who Is My Advisor?
All students are assigned a Computer Science Advisor from University Advising as well as a Faculty Mentor. Advisors are listed in GRAD and should be booked through RSN-Starfish (except during open hours periods). Mentors can be contacted during their regular office hours or via email to set up an appointment.
Transfer Course to CS Program
Rowan University Students enrolled in the majors of Computing & Informatics or Computer Science may enroll in, complete, and transfer course credits to fulfill General Education/Rowan Core Electives, certain Rowan Experience Electives, Non-Program Electives, and Free Electives. Major Required non-CS/CI Courses courses may be transferred including certain Mathematics courses and Laboratory Sciences. Click here to learn more and submit a request.
Senior Privilege Committee Approval
“Senior Privilege” is a unique opportunity available to matriculated undergraduate Rowan students that enables them to register for up to six (6) credits* of Rowan graduate coursework while matriculated in a Rowan undergraduate program. Students will be charged the undergraduate tuition rates** (as opposed to the graduate rate) for courses taken under this policy and the courses will only appear on the student’s undergraduate transcript. Undergraduate students enrolled in graduate coursework under the Senior Privilege policy are expected to meet all the same course requirements and standards required for graduate students. Undergraduate students with “senior” standing at Rowan University requesting graduate registration under the Senior Privilege policy must meet all of the eligibility requirements and submit this signed form to Global Student Services within proper deadlines. Click here to learn more and submit a request.
Third Time Course Repeat Request
CS Students are not normally able to retake a course a third time. To request an exception, you may fill out this form. Click here to learn more and submit a request.
Academic Credit for Internships
The CS Department offers academic credits for students who are participating in internships or work programs, provided they meet certain requirements. Learn more by clicking here.
