With a wide variety of challenging offerings, the Department of Mathematics at Rowan University offers a competitive, yet fun, learning environment. Students have the option of two undergraduate degrees, a graduate program and several concentrations. Our faculty is comprised of experts in many areas, including applied and theoretical mathematics, statistics, abstract algebra and analysis. Rowan's math students boast noteworthy credentials as well. Many have conducted original research, participated in national and international mathematics competitions and published papers with faculty. The Mathematics Department is located on the 2nd floor of Robinson Hall (Suite 228).
Dr. Helga Huntley co-authors landmark study
Huntley helped develop the mathematical framework for evaluating the environmental impacts of removing plastic waste from the Pacific Ocean.

Monitoring crops with AI models
Hieu Nguyen, Ph.D., uses smart drones and artificial intelligence (AI) to help farmers monitor their fields for these and other threats.

B.S. in Data Science
The B.S. degree in Data Science at Rowan prepares students to become professionals in the rapidly-expanding data science field. In this program, you will learn about commonly-used tools and techniques in the Big Data industry, machine learning, information analysis and visualization, and data science research practices.
