Application Information & Requirements

The Department of Psychology welcomes applications for our full-time, scientist-practitioner, clinical psychology doctoral program.

Applications are due by January 1st.

Application Requirements

  1. A completed Rowan Global Application Form. 
  2. Bachelor's degree (or its equivalent) from an accredited institution of higher learning
    1. Bachelor's degree in psychology or closely related field.
    2. Minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 3.0
    3. For applicants who wish to transfer credits to our program, you must have a minimum 3.3 GPA in your graduate program. 
    4. Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 in Psychology coursework
      1. 18 credits of undergraduate psychology courses, including at least one 3 credit course in each of the following: Intro to Psychology, Research Methodology, Statistics, and Abnormal Psychology.
  3. GRE General Test scores.  
  4. GRE Psychology Test scores
    1. Required if not a psychology major. Preferred if without or only a minor in Psychology.
  5. Current Curriculum Vitae or resume
  6. Three letters of recommendation on official letterhead accompanied by Rowan Global Letter of Recommendation Form
  7. A personal statement that includes professional objectives, research interests, and any other information the candidate would like to share with the admissions committee. Applicants should also indicate what faculty member(s) they are interested in conducting research with and how this interest fits into their career goals. Applicants are encouraged to indicate up to three faculty members with whom they would be interested in working. 
  8. Personal interview.
  9. $65 (U.S.) non-refundable application fee
  10. Official transcripts from all colleges attended (regardless of number of credits earned)

2011 Application Cycle Update

Based on the unique demands of the COVID-19 pandemic,

a) GRE General Test scores have been waived for the current cyle. Please do NOT include any information about the GRE in your application packet or have that information sent with your application. It will not be considered or reviewed. 

b) GRE Subject Test scores are not required. However, students who were not Psychology majors may still wish to submit these scores if they believe it might demonstrate their preparedness of graduate study in the field.

c) In-Person interviews will not be required. However, oppotunities for those who wish to visit the campus/program will be allowed if univeristy and state policies permit. Such opportunities will be granted after admissions decisions are made and prior to candidates having to make final decisions regarding admissions offers.
