Requirements:

• Junior or sophomore standing with GPA of 3.0 or higher in major required courses
• Ability to work independently in a highly dynamic environment
• Passion for learning new ideas and concepts
• Strong communication and reasoning skills are required
• Expect to work with such programming languages as C#, Python, JavaScript, etc.
• Strong mathematical background (i.e., Calculus, Linear Algebra, Probability and Statistics), exposure to software engineering practices, and working understanding of chemistry and biology is a plus

Job description:

• Develop machine learning and data analytics methods and algorithms
• Develop applications to solve various real-life scientific problems
• Weekly/Bi-weekly meetings

 Compensation:

• Starting salary $14/hour
• Max number of hours: 20/week during semester, 25/week during break
• Working hours are flexible

 Sample projects:

• Develop an application with GUI for parsing word documents to generate reports
• Develop an event scheduling web application with GUI using JavaScript w. Ajax, C#, and SQL-lite
• Visualize Scientific Data with D3 JavaScript library
