Student Organizations
Students in the Physics & Astronomy Department are encouraged to join our various student organizations. These clubs provide a valuable opportunity to meet other students, learn more about career opportunities, hear from visiting speakers, participate in service projects on and off campus, and have fun!Physics and Astronomy Club
The Rowan Physics and Astronomy Club is a diverse community of students brought together by their passion for Physics and Astronomy. Our aim is to provide our members with academic and social support systems, along with opportunities to reciprocate that support within the club and in the Rowan area community. Many projects are done by our club such as launching model rockets, or building things that pique our interest. We also help provide professional opportunities to meet people in the Physics industry and attend conferences. Our open access club space in Room 153, Science Hall, is a non-stop environment of academic collaboration and social interaction. If you would like to join the club, need help with a physics homework problem, want to chat about the mysteries of the universe, or just want to hang out with some wonderful people, stop by anytime!
The Physics and Astronomy Club Outreach Program is one of the many ways we provide meaningful community engagement for our members. We visit Rowan area P-12 schools and present physics demonstrations with conceptual discussions. This program is a wonderful way for members to get involved in the community and help inspire the next generation of scientists. Participating members also gain valuable experience while demonstrating physics concepts, especially those interested in teaching!
