Student Awards
Every year students are nominated by psychology faculty for a number of undergraduate and graduate student awards. We celebrate these students during our annual awards and recognition ceremony.

Undergraduate Awards
Excellence in Psychology Medallion
This medallion, sponsored by the Psychology Department, is presented to an outstanding Psychology or Psychological Science graduating senior who exhibits excellence in academics, scholarly achievement, service and leadership.
Dean's Outstanding Senior Award
This award is presented to one graduating psychological science (BS) major and one graduating psychology (BA) major who exemplifies the best and brightest of our department.
Okorodudu Outstanding Contribution to Service Award
This service award is named in honor of Corann Okorodudu, a professor in the psychology department for 43 years and coordinator of the Africana Studies program.Through her international work with the United Nations, Dr. Okorodudu spent her career advocating for women’s mental health rights. This award is given to a graduating psychology major that made an outstanding contribution to psychology through excellence in service to the department, university, and/or wider community.

Rising Star Award
The Rising Star award (previously known as the Outstanding Underclassman Award) is given to one sophomor or junior level student who demonstrates outstanding promise in psychology.

Undergraduate Achievement in Applied Behavior Analysis
The Undergraduate Achievement in Applied Behavior Analysis award is given to an undergraduate psychology student who has demonstrated exceptional achievement related to the field of Behavior Analysis and was selected by the faculty in the Applied Behavior Analysis program.

Graduate Student Awards
CMHC Excellence in Resiliency Award
This award is given to the second-year Clinical Mental Health Counseling student who has exemplified resiliency and adaptability to the difficulties posed by the global pandemic. These awardees were able to persevere through many challenges and continue to demonstrate strong clinical skills while maintaining academic and professional integrity.
CMHC Professional Leadership Award
This award is given to the second-year Clinical Mental Health Counseling student who has exemplified professionalism and ethical conduct, both in and out of the classroom. This student has demonstrated strong clinical skills and sound clinical judgment and has served as a leader to peers in demonstrating the professional and ethical codes of the counseling community.

Outstanding Pre-Candidate Clinical Doctoral Student Award
Outstanding Candidate Clinical Doctoral Student Award
This award is given to a third or fourth year Clinical PhD student who has demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, excellence in applied research, and commitment to the field of clinical psychology and was selected by the faculty in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program.
Research Conference Awards
Every spring the Psychology Department hosts an annual research conference showcasing our students' work. Students present in oral and poster formats which are judged by faculty raters. An award is given to the best poster presentation and best oral presenation.
