Luis E. Santiago OrtizLuis is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. Luis, a first generation student, was a research fellow in the Cumberland Bridges program. At Rowan, he excelled in laboratory research and founded the student club, Thirst Project. He participated in the Cooper Medical School Premedical Urban Leaders Summer Enrichment program and is pursuing a career in medicine. He is honored to share his story of perseverence with the Class of 2020. Read more

Ciani EugeneCiani is proud to have been selected to represent the School of Health Professions Class of 2020 and share her inspiring story. She is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Health & Exercise Science. In addition to graduating with Honors and excelling in the classroom, Ciani has extradionary drive and determination. She was an active member of GetFit and the Rowan community. Ciani is looking forward to pursuing a career in occupational therapy. Read more

Zachary LeveyGraduating with a Bachelor of Science in Psychological Sciences, several minors, and an Honors concentration, Zachary Levey is an outstanding student. Zack has has prospered in undergraduate research and his internship in the field of industrial and organizational psychology. He has earned several prestigious awards including the Dean's Outstanding Senior Award. Zack attributes much of his success to faculty mentorship. He will be attending a Ph.D. program at Bowling Green State University.

The College of Science & Mathematics and the School of Health Professions congratulates the entire Class of 2020 for their well-deserved success. This graduating class will be remembered for decades to come. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, our students demonstrated great resilience and graceful self-sacrifice. Putting community above self, we are Rowan Proud of the many graduates volunteering, working as first responders, and providing support and outreach to their fellow students. We wish all of our graduates a bright future filled with boundless opportunities. |
Recognition of Retiree, Dr. Maria Tahamont, Department of Biological Sciences |

The College of Science & Mathematics would like to honor faculty member, Dr. Maria Tahamont. She has dedicated her professional career to teaching and research in science education, exercise and pulmonary physiology, and diversity and access issues in higher education. Dr. Tahamont is dedicated to increasing access for women and minority students in the STEM fields. She served as coordinator for Rowan Seminar, Chair of Biological Sciences, and was a leader of the Bildner Project, which had a profound impact by increasing the number of multidisciplinary courses that addressed issues of diversity and democracy in Rowan University course offerings. She was a recipient of The Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award and was always committed to the success of her students. |
