Low Magnetic Field/Variable Temperature Measurement System (American Cryogenics)

This device is an exchange gas cryostat that is used for electrical transport investigations. The cryostat is configured with a tail allowing temperature to be controlled in a room temperature electromagnet. Since the strength of the magnetic field generated by the electromagnet depends on the magnet pole separation, the cryostat has interchangeable tails allowing this separation to be 1" or 2". This system is particularly useful for measurements at fields less than one tesla. If liquid helium temperatures (4.2K) are not required, this system can be operated using only liquid nitrogen (77K) as a cryogen.
