2021-2022 at a glance
This academic year has been a great time for Computer Science. Lots of exciting things have happened in the CS Department over the past two semesters. From the SURP event, to the Makerspace, to the RunSignup collab, there was no shortage of special events going on for CS students to appreciate.Many of these events were covered in articles here on the Rowan CS website. These articles were written by Cole Goetz, third-year Writing Arts major and writer for the CS Department Webteam. Cole was first hired into the Webteam in summer of 2021. Ever since then, he has been keeping the Rowan CS website fresh with an assortment of articles. With the academic year wrapping up soon, let’s take this opportunity to look back on these articles and see what has happened over the past two semesters.
UPE Raspberry Pi Game
Last month, the Makerspace hosted a special event to kick off the spring semester. The event focused on the use of Raspberry Pi computers, for the purpose of developing a game.

Student Spotlight: Julia Bowes
Julia Bowes has been a tutor in the CS Department for about a year now. In addition, she is also an admissions ambassador coordinator, a member of the NCAA D-3 volleyball team, and a Learning Assistant in Computer Science courses. Even with this wide array of responsibilities to juggle, Julia excels in her classes and has even landed a summer internship working in Computer Science.
