Biography

Education:
Ph.D., Mathematics, University of Delaware
M.S., Mathematics, University of Delaware
B.S., Mathematics, minor in Women's and Gender Studies, Muhlenberg College

Research Expertise:
Mathematics Education | Algebra | Graph Theory

While my dissertation was situated at the intersection of algebra and graph theory, I am much more interested these days in how best to make things fair both in the teaching of mathematics and in content. Presently, I am looking to inquiry-based learning and active learning for these answers. I am also interested in open-source materials and the efforts surrounding them, as I believe the additional costs imposed on students to engage in their education are unfair.

Teaching Narrative:
I am very interested in research-backed pedagogy in order to make mathematics more accessible. Currently, I use inquiry-based learning. This framework has succeeded for me in everything from Quantitative Reasoning to College Geometry. Math is for everyone, and I aim to deconstruct any barriers that say otherwise.
