Certificates of Graduate Study (COGS)
Certificates of Graduate or Advanced Graduate Study (below) are intended for graduate students and are available to learners outside of Rowan University that already possess a bachelor’s degree in the related field.
These certificates provide specialization at more advanced levels. We encourage you to reach out to the certificate coordinator to learn more and you can apply directly via the application portal!
Advanced Photonics
The COGS in Photonics addresses a growing industry demand. The certificate encompasses optical design, instrumentation design and application use, and laser-based communication systems.
Cannabinoid Chemistry
The COGS in Cannabinoid Chemistry will train students in the fundamental and underlying science necessary for the analysis of marijuana, cannabinoids, and related materials. This training would be useful to careers in health professions, food science, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology.
Computational Data Science
The COGS in Computational Data Science is intended for tech savvy industry managers who need to take advantage of big data opportunities. As a result of this program, students will be able to apply data analytics in any area of specialization.
Cyber Security Architecture
The COGS in Cyber Security Architecture is designed to offer students the opportunity of a specialized study to provide students with experience in key courses of this discipline at the graduate level.
Cyber Security Principles
The COGS in Cybersecurity Principles is designed to offer students the opportunity of a specialized study to provide students with experience with the principles of cybersecurity at the graduate level.
Health Data Management
The COGS in Health Data Management is intended for researchers, statisticians, or data analysts who would like to play a part in the Healthcare industry. As a result of this program, students will be able to understand how to handle health-related data and design and analyze experiments as they relate to health data.
Industrial Chemistry
The COGS in Industrial Chemistry is intended for the students with a background in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, and/or Chemical Engineering who wish to understand chemical industry procedures and practices generally employed in pharmaceutical drug development.
Networks
The COGS in Networks is designed to offer students the opportunity of a specialized study to provide students with experience in key courses of this discipline at the graduate level.
Photonics
The COGS in Photonics prepares students to enter the high-tech workforce in optics research and development. The required courses give students a solid theoretical background, extensive hands-on experience, and in-depth knowledge of photonics including optical design, lasers, and fiber optic communications.
Software Engineering
The COGS in Software Engineering is appropriate for computer scientists or computer engineers who already have a good understanding of software programming and who now want to gain new skills in the full life cycle of software development.
Applied Behavior Analysis
The CAGS in Applied Behavior Analysis is designed to provide students with the necessary coursework required for certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (B.C.B.A.). In addition to coursework, the B.C.B.A. certification requires a Master's degree in psychology, education or a related field and 1500 hours of experience supervised by a B.C.B.A.
Clinical Mental Health Counseling
The CAGS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling is intended for individuals who have already completed a Masters degree in counseling (or related field) and need additional graduate course work in order to have the 60 credits required for state licensure as Licensed Associate Counselors, followed by the licensure (after completing necessary clinical experience) as Licensed Professional Counselors.
