Educational Requirements for Licensure in Psychology

The Ph.D. Program in Clinical Psychology at Rowan University makes every effort to provide education and training that is compliant with national standards of professional preparation for the practice of clinical psychology. Our program adheres to APA accreditation standards and prepares students for entry into the profession of clinical psychology. Given the varied and changing requirements across state jurisdictions, we cannot assure, nor is it our responsibility, that graduates will meet all requirements for licensure in all states or territories. As such, a PhD from a training program in clinical psychology, including ours, may not be sufficient, in and of itself, to meet licensure requirements in all states. You are encouraged to become familiar with state licensing laws for each state where you might be interested in practicing and discuss your curricular plan with your mentor, DCT, or other relevant parties.
