Psychology Undergraduate Programs
Rowan offers both the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and the Bachelor of Science in Psychological Science degrees. The difference between these programs is the proportion of courses taken in the major field. Our department has over 1,300 undergraduates and over 25 full-time faculty supporting our students’ educational experiences inside both the classroom and the research setting.
B.A. Students
- B.A. students complete 39 credits in psychology
- The B.A. provides students with a strong background in psychology to pursue degrees in a variety of professions and graduate school programs while also affording them the opportunity to specialize in other areas through minors, concentrations, and Certificates of Undergraduate Study (CUGS).
B.S. Students
- B.S. students complete 69 credits of psychology along with additional designated courses in statistics, science, and hands-on experience in research methods.
- The B.S. is designed for students who may be interested in pursuing research-oriented careers that may require additional graduate training such as experimental psychology, clinical psychology, and the medical field.
Both the minor in Neuroscience and the Concentration in Behavioral Services for Children and Their Families are available to students obtaining either degree.
B.A. in Psychology
The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree provides students with a background in psychology in order to pursue a variety of professions and graduate school programs, while also affording them the opportunity to specialize in other areas through minors, concentrations, and Certificates of Undergraduate Studies (CUGS).
B.S. in Psychological Science
The Bachelor of Science in Psychological Science degree is designed for students who may be interested in pursuing research-oriented careers that may, or may not, require additional graduate training such as experimental psychology, clinical psychology and the medical field.
Minor in Psychology
This minor is designed for students desiring a substantial background in Psychology while majoring in another field.
Minor in Neuroscience
The Neuroscience minor is designed for students interested in the interdisciplinary study of molecular, structural, chemical, cognitive, physiological, and behavioral aspects of the brain and nervous system.
Concentration in Behavioral Neuroscience
The Concentration is intended to serve as an introduction to the field of behavioral neuroscience, which focuses on the interactions between the nervous system and behavior.
Concentration in Behavioral Services for Children and Their Families
This concentration is designed to prepare students to become Board Certified assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBA).
