Industrial Chemistry Certificate of Graduate Study

This certificate is intended for the students with a background in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, and/or Chemical Engineering who wish to understand chemical industry procedures and practices generally employed in pharmaceutical drug development. Prospective students may be recent graduates of a bachelor's degree program, or they may be senior professionals seeking to update their skills. The certificate may be earned on its own, or it can be credited towards the Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Graduates from this certificate program may find employment in chemical/pharmaceutical industry upon graduation. Others could enter advanced graduate (PhD) or professional degree (MD/DO/DMD/PharmD) programs upon graduating from this COGS program.

  • CHEM 07593 - Regulatory Affairs, 3 s.h.
  • CHEM 07594 - GLP / GLP Techniques, 3 s.h.

Elective Course (One course selected from the elective bank listed below.) 3-4 s.h.      

  • CHEM 05530 – Special Topics in Chemistry, 3 s.h.
  • CHEM 07570 – Organic Spectroscopy, 3 s.h.
  • CHEM 09510 – Instrumental Analysis, 4 s.h.
  • CHEM 09522 - Advanced Bioanalytical Chemistry, 3 s.h. 

This is a Category 2 Graduate Program. To maintain Minimum Satisfactory Academic Progress in and to successfully graduate from this program students must:

  • Earn no grades lower than a “B-”
  • Earn an official cumulative GPA (according to matriculation level) of at least 3.000 on Rowan’s
    4.000 scale
