Certificates of Graduate Studies
Add the CS edge!
The Certificate of Graduate Study (COGS) is designed for graduate students seeking a specialization to their degree, or industry workers seeking to refresh their knowledge while still working a full-time job. Adding the CS Edge with a COGS program will help students become more tech-savvy, knowledgeable, and up-to-date on emerging technologies and trends. This program offers students the opportunity of specialized study with experience in key courses of a focused discipline at the graduate level.
For current students in this program, please view the corresponding page in advising materials.
Currently, we offer COGS in the following topics:
List of COGS
Software Engineering
Standalone or Stackable with the MS in Computer Science or MS in Cybersecurity degree programs. This program helps students develop new skills in the full life cycle of software development.
Networks
Standalone or Stackable with the MS in Computer Science degree program. This program offers courses related to many topics about network fundamentals, including network organization, major network protocols and the principles behind them, wireless networks, network security, and the simulation and performance of network applications.
Cyber Security Principles
Standalone or stackable with the MS in Computer Science or MS in Cybersecurity degree programs, the Certificate of Graduate Study (COGS) in Cybersecurity Principles offers courses that provide the fundamentals of Cybersecurity, including cryptography, malware attack, defense practices, common network-based threats and countermeasures, and cyber forensics.
Cyber Security Architecture
Standalone or stackable with the MS in Computer Science or MS in Cybersecurity degree programs, the Certificate of Graduate Study (COGS) in Cybersecurity Architecture provides students with the experience of infrastructure development in order to repel and counteract cyber threats and attacks. Course topics include best practices in Cybersecurity, Networking, Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud Architecture, and Defense of Operating Systems.
Computational Data Science
Stackable with the MS in Computer Science or MS in Data Science degree programs. This program will help students take advantage of rising big data opportunities. Students will be able to use algorithms, statistics, and technology to extract business intelligence from massive amounts of data, manage streamed data or data stored in massive data warehouses and visually analyze and present information.
Health Data Management
Standalone or Stackable with the MS in Computer Science or MS in Data Science degree programs. This program is designed for researchers, statisticians, or data analysts who would like to get involved in the Healthcare industry. Students will be able to handle health-related data as well as design and analyze experiments that relate to health data.
