About the Program
The US Department of Labor, along with the NJ Department of Labor, project sustained positive growth over this decade in computer jobs. They have listed the following occupations among the fastest growing occupations over the 2014-2023 period: Computer software engineers, Computer support specialists and systems administrators, Data Analysts, Computer and information system managers, Computer systems analysts, and Internet, Web and data processing services. They project that computer occupations are among the fastest growing occupations in the economy.
This program allows highly motivated students to begin taking graduate courses in their senior year, accelerating their graduate studies while still at the undergraduate level and while paying undergraduate tuition and fees. The Combined Advanced Degree BA/MS degree program allows interested and qualified students to complete the Rowan University Computer Science Department’s Bachelor of Arts in Computing & Informatics and Master of Science in Cybersecurity in a shorter time — usually in five years rather than six.
Admission Requirements
- Be enrolled in the 3 + 1 Community College to Computing & Informatics at Rowan University Program.
- Complete 75 credits towards the Computing & Informatics major. This includes credits you have already completed plus any credits you are actively working on at the time of applying. Discuss the logistics of completion with your advisor.
- Earn a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Earn a major-specific GPA of at least a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.(Found in degreeworks)
- Have a Banner ID assigned to you.
- Obtain two letters of recommendation from faculty members familiar with your academic performance.
- If they agree to your recommendation, they can submit their letters directly to mscyber@rowan.edu with the subject line “Graduate Committee: Recommendation for (your name)”.
- Complete the application and all required materials for submission by the deadlines: December 31 for spring entry, or June 30 for Fall entry.
- Materials can be sent to mscyber@rowan.edu for the Cybersecurity program.
