Biography

My name is George Mikulski, Ph.D., and I am looking forward to working with you. I have 46 years of experience in a combination of areas, including Higher Education and Computer Science. I have a doctorate in Computer Science and Information Systems from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale Florida, a Master of Computer Science from George Mason University in Fairfax Virginia, and a BS in Computer Science and Mathematics from King’s College in Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania. I enjoy working as an adjunct professor. My dissertation topic was the “Use of Abstract Categories in Data Clustering Algorithms”, and my research interests include Cybercrime Analysis, Intrusion Technologies and Defenses, Computer Forensics, Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Security, Security Analytics, Cyber Law & Compliance, SCADA Risk Management and Auditing, Cyber Security Methods, Mobile and Wireless Security, Cryptography and Security Mechanisms, and Cloud Computing.

I live in Annapolis Maryland with my wife of 29 years and 2 children. I enjoy boating on the Chesapeake Bay and camping in nearby Pennsylvania, where I was born. All of my degrees were obtained in a traditional classroom setting, but my doctoral degree in Computer Science had an online component. I believe in online education.  Technology should be used to increase skills and expand or enhance learning across all skills and subject areas.  There should be a focus on learning styles that are collaborative, online, and technology driven. Also, the use of technology and learning communities to tap into existing resources, experts, and support structures is beneficial. The University is impressive and dedicated to student achievement utilizing a progressive online format. I am honored to be a part of your educational experience and look forward to learning with you.
