Ravi Ranjan Wins Research Fellowship To Explore How Machine Learning Can Be Used To Predict Cryptocurrency Prices

Ravi Ranjan, a current Master’s in Data Science student at Rowan University, was recently granted a $3,000 research fellowship from Phemex, a crypto and blockchain startup in Singapore, to conduct research on machine learning algorithms and cryptocurrencies.

In particular, Ravi will explore how effective machine learning algorithms are in forecasting cryptocurrency prices. To do this, he’ll conduct experiments with various machine learning libraries and analyze the external factors that play a major role in forecasting.

Ravi has more than four years of experience working as a software and data engineer and is very passionate about machine learning and its implications on cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies. Ravi also has previous academic and professional experience in data science, data mining, and AI. The volatility of cryptocurrency prices is what motivated Ravi to explore ways to more accurately analyze crypto asset price movements.

For those interested in exploring Ravi’s profile and downloading his research paper, they can be found on the Phemex Student Foundation website.
