Internet-Controlled Devices

DYLAN R. PETZKO

Over the past several years Internet-controlled devices have been implemented in many different fields including medical, military, and industry. The major benefit of using the Internet-controlled devices is the ability to remotely control a system from an unlimited distance through the Internet that can be applied to vehicles such as cars, buses, and airplanes. An uninterruptable autopilot system, which is controlled from a station on the ground, can be used in emergency situations like a terrorist hijack attempt. The most important drawback to this system is the possibility of a cyber-attack on this system to hijack control remotely. In our project, we are building an application framework which will use secure and private communications to combat the possibility of a remote hijacking of an internet-controlled device.
