Using Smart Glasses for Facial Recognition
GABRIELLA A. MAYORGA, and XUAN H. DOFacial recognition is one of the most promising applications of smart glasses and can help many organizations become more efficient. For example, police traditionally identified criminals by going through pictures in a database manually and may not have used search engine results, making face matching a slow process. But the combination of facial recognition software, smart glasses, and online databases can help police quickly spot criminals in crowds. The goal of this project is to write an Android program that takes a photo via a smart glass and compares it with a predefined online sample database. We will also use some facial recognition online search engines to search for people’s faces and return the results to the smart glass. It will also account for partially obscured faces by informing the user of the match reliability with a percentage.
