Rowan students take part in the Cesium Developers Conference

Computer Science students Mary Moor, Vivek Akulapally, and Anush Aryal recently showcased their cutting-edge skills  at the Cesium Developer's Conference which took place in Philadelphia, PA from 6/23 – 6/25. Representing Rowan University College of Science & Mathematics, these students demonstrated a range of innovative technologies including Reality Capture with drones, Cesium Ion, Cesium for Unreal, and eXtended Reality (XR). Their XR content was shared on various platforms such as smartphones, Vive VR headsets, and Hololens2 AR glasses. They also presented projects from Computer Animation and a poster that earned honorable mention at the ACM SIGGRAPH conference.

Mary Moor stood out with two session talks. She gave a tutorial on new Cesium Ion features and had the distinct honor of participating in the conference’s closing session on the main stage, where she presented a drone scan of the Rowan Owl. Using Cesium Ion’s newest features, she created a geo-specific 3D Gaussian splat—all completed within 24 hours during the event! This impressive work also led to Mary being declared a Cesium Certified Developer!
